Samba does not start

Hello,

I have enabled SAMBA share under an OMV 3.0 but I couldn't access to it. I always got "NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED".

under OMV 2.0:

As you can notice, smbd and nmbd did not start under OMV3.

After few days of investigation, I found that thread: smbd startet nicht

I replaced /sbin/start-stop-daemon with /sbin/start-stop-daemon.REAL . I restarted the smbd and nmbd, it works !

My question is: is there another way to enable SAMBA under OMV3 ?

My configuration is:
Version: 3.0.58
Processor: Intel Atom CPU D2500
Kernel: Linux 4.8.0-0.bpo.2-amd64

I experienced the same issue. Install from USB using the 3.0.58-amd64.iso. Updated the system post install using omv-update, then tried setting up my shares. SMB nor DLNA would not work (I supsect others services as well, but these were the only two I was working with) until I replaced /sbin/start-stop-daemon with /sbin/start-stop-daemon.REAL .

Please check:
GUI Network Interfaces! and nano /etc/network/interfaces

The Network Interfaces on the GUI is fine: eth0 IPv4:DHCP ; IPv6 is disabled

/etc/network/interfaces.d is empty.

There is few links related to the issue with start-stop-daemon, like this: https://hblok.net/blog/posts/2015/03/29/debian-7-netinst/. I don't know if there is a way to be sure it will never happen again.
