Are there instructions for getting plugins offline?

  • Are there instructions or a tutorial on how to use / install plugins from git? Or how to make them into .deb format?

I used to go to http://omv-extras.org and download the .deb files (my omv server at work doesn't have access to the internet so i would use usb key to load them).

Using the newer omv-extras.org site all the plugins direct me to "bintray.com"

    Eg. https://bintray.com/openmediav…mediavault-snapraid/view#

And that has a link to github.

    Eg.https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/openmediavault-snapraid

From there i can see how to download the .git file or download as zip, but not make it into .deb or install it.

    Thanks for your help!

You don't want to download code from git and install because it might be work in progress or for a different version of OMV. You can download from bintray since that is the repo. Each repo has a Files section where you can download the .deb. https://bintray.com/openmediav…o/openmediavault-snapraid

Just a note, downloading just the plugin doesn't get you the dependencies. The dependencies are in the debian repo and there can be many depending on the plugin.
