v0.3 BETA available

    • Offizieller Beitrag

Today i've released the 0.3 OpenMediaVault packages. If you want to test it you have two options:

    • Download ISO image from https://sourceforge.net/projects/openmediavault/files/0.3
Please note that there will be only a 64bit image available for the BETA phase.

    • Use an 0.2.x installation (32 or 64bit). Please ensure that you have installed the latest available version 0.2.7.3 before upgradeing to 0.3. Note, do not upgrade if you are using plugins that are not adapted to 0.3. The following plugins hosted on OMV are 0.3 ready:

      • openmediavault-forkeddaapd
      • openmediavault-iscsitarget
      • openmediavault-lvm2
      • openmediavault-netatalk
      • openmediavault-nut

To upgrade to 0.3 do the following steps:

      • Edit the file '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list' and change the repository name from 'ix' to 'omnius'.

        Code
        deb http://packages.openmediavault.org/public omnius main
        ## Uncomment the following line to add software from the proposed repository.
        # deb http://packages.openmediavault.org/public omnius-proposed main

      • Execute the following commands

        Code
        apt-get update
        apt-get dist-upgrade

Please note that this version is BETA. You're doing all on your own risk.

  • could have cost to add the button to increase or decrease the capacity of the plugin LVM. I already wrote about this but I ignored it. Why piat by hand if you can make a button?

This is not the place to talk about plugins, go to the plugins forum for this.

For the ones updating from 0.2 to 0.3, remember to update your time zone in 'Date & Time'. Whatever setting you have there is no longer valid. Select the new one and save it.

  • After updating as described in the post above, I get the following error message when accessing the web interface:

Any idea what could have caused this or how to correct it?

edit: Ok, I found it, the transmission plugin is not compatible with OMV 3.0 and after removing it with

    Code
    apt-get remove openmediavault-transmissionbt

    everything works as planned! :)

  • Yeah I did see that coming, and forgot to mention it. Remove Transmission, then do the distro update. There's no official plugin for Transmission any longer (as of today), which is why it fails. The omv-plugins.org repositories have a compatible version, which is what I did.
