That's not the topic. I wan't to use sha2/sha5. Even if the police can't force you to handle out the key, they can bruteforce sha1
OpenMediaVault for many plugins is using the default settings which are working without issue as this is the target and also be less complicated. Of course further customization can done but only from CLI.
Mostly the link which I provide was to understand why LUKS is using by default this and why is not broken for this use as people think (except if the developer is stupid).
From official FAQ https://gitlab.com/cryptsetup/…/FrequentlyAskedQuestions section 5.20
If you want to use sha-2 you can create luks volume using the terminal. After you should still be able to unlock them or add more keys from the plugin ui.
The original creator of the plugin is not available at the moment, so it won't see a significant change to have something like this in the ui.
Subzero79 have you tried that? Please provide an example command.
You can still use Veracrypt. Is a multiplatform soultion. Any way you need to mount a disk to the device-mapperer first to open encrypted area, same as in Veracrypt. you tried
How about google or man cryptsetup or read the wonderful (as usual) arch linux wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/ind…m-crypt/Device_encryption
There is nothing in there about sha1. You cannot probably change that at this time, But Veracrypt does the good joob.

Thx, it works!

Now that I have worked with this plugin's code so much, iIt wouldn't be hard to add hash and key-size.
