No filesystems?

    Installed successfully. Box has just 1 HDD.


    Physical Disks lists /dev/sda


    Filesystems lists nothing.


    parted reports a fairly standard setup: /dev/sda1 ext4 for most of drive, and a small swap partition.


    Without filesystem, not sure I can do anything?

    You need more than one drive for OMV. The OS drive cannot be used for data using the web interface. We recommend a small laptop 2.5" hard drive for the OS. If you really want to use the single drive setup, you need to resize the partition and add another partition for data. This can be done with gparted/systemrescuecd.

    It's right there under minimum requirements...


    As quoted above the system requirements are directly from the Open Media Vault wiki pages.


    Note line 2;


    2 GiB HDD/DOM/CF/USB Thumb Drive used as OpenMediaVault system drive.


    Note it states it is OK to use CF/USB flash media for the system drive, and the wiki Info section states;


    USB sticks are not recommended as boot device.


    I do not know who has the ability to edit the wiki, but would suggest changing line 2 to read;


    2) GiB HDD/DOM/SSD drive used as OpenMediaVault system/boot drive. CF/SD/USB sticks and similar flash media are not recommended for system/boot drive use.


    and change the Info section to read;


    We do not recommend the use of CF/SD/USB sticks and similar flash media as the system/boot drive.


    How it is written may be confusing people into thinking it may be OK to use non-SSD flash media as system/boot drives for their OMV install.
