Question about filesystem-union

  • Hi everyone,
I need to add a second RAID1 to my NAS, so I was thinkin to use the plug-in filesystem union.
I have a few question about it:
    1) it won't erase the data on the hard drive right?
    2) Will I still be able to access at the single RAID 1 if I want? Example: what if I want to copy a file in A instead of B?
    3) Is it safe to use? Or you suggest to not use it?

No, it works on top of other filesystems.

Will I still be able to access at the single RAID 1 if I want?

Yes. Nothing happens to the underlying filesystem.

We wouldn't have a plugin if it was unsafe. I use it and have for a long time. The developer of mergerfs is very active in development and helps on this forum quite often.
