CloneZilla "Boot Failed!"

  • I am building my first OMV-System. :)

I found the option to "Reboot to CloneZilla Once" in the "OMV-Extras | Kernel" section and wanted to try it.

    But booting CloneZilla failed.

This lines were repeated many times for about 1 or 2 minutes.

    Code
    calling: test-builtin
    load module index
Network interface NamePolicy= disabled on kernel commandline, ignoreing.
    Created link configuration context.
    unload module index
    Unload link configuration context.

I guess this has something to do with UEFI and my NVMe-SSD.
Installing Debian Jessie was not easy, either. :D

    Is this a know issue.
    Is there a fix?
    Google did not found much.

This is not a big problem, but it would be a great feature when working.

Yep, it is a known issue and there is no fix that I know of. The clonezilla version omv-extras uses is old which doesn't support your hardware. I can't use a newer version because there is no way for to autoconfigure networking in the newer versions. You will have to download the latest version and boot it manually from a usb stick or something.

Just download the new clonezilla-iso and extract it to /path/to/clonezilla.

That might work but it wouldn't be headless since you would have to setup the networking from the clonezilla menus.

Sorry to resurrect old threat. I have the same problem: boot failed. No fix yet?

I can't fix it. Newer versions of Clonezilla don't allow booting a headless system with networking.

If you have a monitor, you could boot a newer version of clonezilla.
