Hi,
after a fresh install of OMV4.1.3, update to 4.1.4, installation of extras plugins, zfs plugin, i played with hot plug of the drives (/dev/sd[b-e]).
so i
- booted without data drives,
- inserted the data drives,
- clicked "update" to see the drives (yeah it worked - after setting the BIOS correctly)
- tried to create a "ZFS pool -> no drives are shown...???
Note: not even one disk is used by the system, - rebooted the system (all data drives are plugged in)
- tried to create a "ZFS pool -> no drives are shown...???
- (fast) wiped all data drives
- now ist changed:
- i can see all 4 data drives in the "create file system" Dialogue
but... - only 2 drives (/dev/sda and drive /dev/sdb) are available for zfs pool creation ??
- same for RAID creation..
- only 2 drives (/dev/sda and drive /dev/sdb) are available
- i can see all 4 data drives in the "create file system" Dialogue
As i can see:
- a drop box is used for "File System Creation"
this works - a list box (?) is used for "RAID creation" and "ZFS pool creation"
this let me see only 2 of 4 drives
in general, i like to see drives in the list, even i am not allowed to use them - they may be grey.
(so i can see, they are detected, but used... - an additional tool tip or comment would be great in this case)
following the screenshots of the disks after the hot-plug and the ZFS pool creation dialog.
only 2 Drives are available for RAID creation:
all Drives are available for file system creation:
is that the ecpected behavior? do i miss something?
My Hardware configuration:
- Asrock Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac
- M.2 sata ssd, 16 GB
- Celeron G3930
- 8G DDR4 RAM
- Silverstone DS380 case
- some old disks for testing..
Thanks for reading and Best Regards,
Bernd
