omv-extras - no plugins in overview (except standard plugins)

  • hi,

i have an issue when installing omv-extras 4. i did as described here, but after the refresh there are no new pugins in the overview (only the omv ones).

i tried it to install from gui and console. Both without success. No error messages but no plugins of omv-extras, as well. ;(

    system is:

    NSA325 with kernel 4.16

    Debian 9 with actual omv4

What is the output of: arch

If it is armel, then there is no armel repo for omv-extras on OMV 4.x.

  • output is armv5tel, so you are rigtht: armel.
Will there be a repo for armel in v4? is someone working on this? Otherwise I would go back to erasmus.

    thanks

    No.

    is someone working on this?

No. I think armel is too slow and have nothing to test it on (well, it is too painful to use RPi1).

Otherwise I would go back to erasmus.

There may be a few plugins in the omv-extras erasmus repos but they are not being updated.

So those who have an armel cpu are doomed?

You can keep using an older version. There just won't be any updates. This is how many commercial NASes are as well.

I installed Debian 9 on my old QNAP 209 II Pro (armel based), with some effort I have OMV4 running.
Can you teach us how can we install older versions of plugins like Transmission and OpenVPN?

While I think this is a terrible idea, you are free to download plugins from https://bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers from the arrakis repo and install the .deb. It would be easier to use docker or a new system though.
