SilverStone SST-CS380 Storage Server Build - 11 Bay, 20 Cores, 32GB RAM

  • So i recently decided to get rid of my HP 12 bay rack-mount server (DL380P gen8 v2) as it was too loud and build a low noise but powerful server that i wouldn't need to replace for years. I had a rough budget of 450 which isn't much, so a few components came from ebay. Specs below

Case: SilverStone SST-CS380 ($138 from Newegg)
Power Supply: Rosewill PHOTON-550 (11 from Newegg, promotion for buying casse)
    Motherboard: SuperMicro X9SRH-7F v2 (150 from eBay)
    CPU: Intel Xeon (SR19Y) E5-2650L V2 1.7GHz Ten Core ($90 from eBay)
Memory: 8x4GB ECC DDR3 RAM ($60 from eBay)

My TOTAL is 449. However i spent another 80 dollars. 40 dollars for noctua cpu cooler and another 40 for additional hot swap bays. See images below

    Memory: 8x4GB ECC DDR3 RAM ($60 from eBay) =48 ?

  • Just curious: Which kind of services does this machine run?

Not much at the moment. I have 11x 3TB HDD installed with mergerfs and snapraid configured. FTP, NFS, SMB services are enabled. Docker is installed and im running a couple dockers currently. Plex, Nextcloud, Calibre-Web etc.
