Hi,
First Congrats and thanks to everybody who participated to the openmediavault project.
My NAS is running for more than 6 months now.
It's used as a photos/movies/files/backup server at home. It is accessible through a vpn from outside.
The 2 most important things i wanted were :
. Silence
. Low power consumption
It's build around a J3455-ITX asrock mother board with 8Gb of DDR4.
The OS is installed on a 32Gb SSD.
The main drive is a 4Tb WD red model.
Every other days it's synced to a second 4Tb WD blue model during the night.
The power supply is a PicoPSU-90 that takes the 12V from a MeanWell RS-75-12 PSU.
The case is a "Sharkoon Shark Zone C10".
I wrote a nodejs http photos server that suited exactly what i needed.
RAM Cache, no disk write, low network bandwidth, you see exactly in your browser what is on your hard drive.
Available here if you need something like this :
https://github.com/Ixox/RamPhotoServer
The build is super silent.
The power consumption is (if i remember correctly) around 15W Idle and around 40W under load.
And it's so much more powerfull compared to my old DS212J.
I Like it a lot,
Xavier
