Openzwave USB is not in the hardware list of Domoticz plugin 3.1

  • I updated my nas from omv3 to omv4 and found that after updating, OpenZwave USB is missing in the hardware list of the Domoticz plugin.

I have this combinations and the result is the following:

    OMV4.1.11 + Domoticz plugin 3.1 (from omv-extras 4.x - stable) = Openzwave USB missing in hardware list
    OMV3.0.99 + Domoticz plugin 3.0 (from omv-extras 3.x - testing) = Openzwave USB in hardware list

I would like to use omv4, how could I add openzwave to the hardware list?

    Thanks

Because the pre-built domoticz packages require a version of SSL that is too old for OMV 4.x/Debian Stretch, I had to build the package. When compiling, I couldn't get the openzwave support to compile. I will look to see if it is compiling on a newer version.

  • Thank you for your response and for your effort.
Actually, I hope you can do it.

How long do you think domoticz will work well in omv4?
Can I do something to resolve this temporarily?
    Could I install manually domoticz?

I am a Linux user without deep knowledge, but I can try it.

    Thanks again.

I'm not sure what you mean. Why would it stop working?

Can I do something to resolve this temporarily?

    Probably not.

    Could I install manually domoticz?

Nope. That is why I had to compile it.

  • I also try to use Domoticz in OMV v4.

Initially I had have similar issue "OpenZWave USB" is not present in the hardware list.

However, plugging the stick into USB, restarting OMV, resetting the stick, running manually /opt/domoticz/updaterelease -> it helped and the device is visible in the "Hardware" tab.

  • Dear nthx,

Thanks for your advise. However, how do you reset the UZB-stick? I tried the manual update, but the OpenZWave USB is still not presented in the dropdown menu.

    Thanx for your help.
