prevent laptop suspend/shutdown when closing the lid

  • Hi, I'm running OMV on Thinkpad x220, and I would like it to not suspend, hibernate, or shutdown when I close the lid.

    I edited:
    /etc/systemd/logind.conf

    and added following:
    HandleLidSwitch=ignore

    It seems to work. :)

    But, is it safe to do? Manual and other posts say to configure everything from web GUI, not from CLI, but I don't see anything relevant in web GUI.

    I don't see why not. There is no option in the web interface because most people don't use a laptop as a NAS.
