moved to SMB/CIFS by Solo0815
Prior to 0.5, I was curious about the privileges settings in the case where no box of read write, read only, or no access was checked. After I upgraded to 0.5, I see that there is an implicit "no access" (all the no access boxes are checked by default) and this makes more sense.
However, I noticed that in my smb.conf, each share has a long list of invalid users. In fact, every user or group that has no access checked becomes a member of the invalid users list. So the problem is that if i grant access to a group, its members still explicitly have no access.
Samba ref says, regarding valid users and invalid users:
...The important rule to remember with these options is that any name or group in the invalid users list will always be denied access, even if it is included (in any form) in the valid users list...
The only way I seem to be able to get SMB/CIFS access to work is if the access is granted specifically for the logged in user. Am I thinking about this incorrectly, or is this a problem?

I am able to work around this by not using Groups at all. Since I have a small number of users, this is acceptable (albeit not as elegant).
