Folder Created Date and Modified Date change when access file inside them

Hi,

I just notice that on one Share I have situation that if I access file inside folder (e.g. open JPEG to view it) "Created Date" and "Modified Date" of folder containing opened file (parent folder) will get today date and time!

I have two SMB Shares on my OMV and only one share suffer from this "anomaly". Both are configured same (as far as I can tell).

I am using Mac OS X 10.13 and OMV 1.0.20 Kralizec.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I found what is causing this:

If file does NOT have ANY metadata (you can check file with Terminal command "xattr") and you open it, it will receive at least "com.apple.lastuseddate#PS" metadata thus system would treat this as file change and will accordingly modify "Created Date" and "Modified Date".

Problem still persist since BOTH date are change to current but only "Modified Date" should change and not "Created Date"!

I am not sure if this is Mac OS X fault or OMV though....
