This was a clean install yesterday, the USB Flash Drive was corrupted on the original.
Questions concerning [How To] Install Pi-Hole in Docker
-
-
Which how to are you following? I will try to replicate.
-
So, I changed again
Those settings are the same as mine.
I have Pi-Hole running on a RPi 2 B using DietPi this is my main DNS, that DNS is added to my router as my only DNS on my network. DHCP from my router issues IP addresses to the network.
So to test this install of Pi-Hole in OMV5 on W10 workstation I changed the DNS setting from automatic to manual and entered the IP of Pi-Hole on OMV5 -> picture
as you can see just one client.

This is the how to for the macvlan and the how to for @crashtest pi-hole install, I have just tried the pi-hole again and set it up and created a dockerparms on OMV's boot device.

You are using DietPi not Raspbian Buster Lite. It might not be using iptables-nft. What is the output of: ls -al /etc/alternatives/ip*
I will try the howto on my RPi4.
-
Yes, but you understand me? Pihole working OK (at least on my computer)...But to make it work only on my computer, I have to give the ping command on the pihole container Without it there is no network communication between PC and Pihole in container

DietPi doesn't use the above, but my output from OMV5 is this
Codels -al /etc/alternatives/ip* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/ip6tables -> /usr/sbin/ip6tables-nft lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 31 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/ip6tables-restore -> /usr/sbin/ip6tables-nft-restore lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/ip6tables-save -> /usr/sbin/ip6tables-nft-save lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/iptables -> /usr/sbin/iptables-nft lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/iptables-restore -> /usr/sbin/iptables-nft-restore lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 Jan 30 14:14 /etc/alternatives/iptables-save -> /usr/sbin/iptables-nft-save

huh. I guess maybe just bridge networks don't work with iptables-nft.

Install the openmediavault-sharerootfs plugin.
One more question BTW, after that I can mount rootfs partition file system, but read-only appdata folder...how can i change?

You will have to fix the permissions from the command line.

I just created pihole container using macvlan on my RPi4 with iptables-nft still enabled and it works fine.

cos I'm getting a headache
-
So, I install new version OMV (from 4) because i lost contact with pihole (same macvlan). Installed OMV 5, and still problems with contact with pihole. Only update's which i observe was on rpi (no remember what, but was rpi-update new version kernet,no router updates).
Why network communications back when I do ping command from container with pihole...arp table? routing table? -
You will have to fix the permissions from the command line.
This isn't permissions, all directories (rootfs) now mount RO,
new tested /dev/mmcblk0p2 on /sharedfolders/appdata1 type ext4 (ro,relatime)

Try it on your rock64. I'm having a heck of a time. I must be doing something consistently wrong.

hi,
Reclaiming back my thread
I'm using OMV v4.1.34-1 - applied latest updates yesterday and my pihole stopeed working. I cannot access the web UI. I configured it from scratch, set up mcvlan etc. but it still does not let me connect. Anyone has any idea what to do?
