Ubuntu 18.04 CIFS mount - lots of "Panic or segfault in Samba" errors

  • Hello,

    I am using OpenMediaVault 4.1.17-1 and have several CIFS shares. These shares are backed by mergerfs shared folders. These shares are mounted on Ubuntu Linux server VMs (16.04) and have been working well (for two years) up until recently when I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04.1. After upgrading Ubuntu server from 16.04 to 18.04.1, I now (several times a day) get lots of emails (50-100 sometimes) from OMV stating "The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was called for PID xxx ()." When I unmount the CIFS share from the Ubuntu 18.04.1 VM, the errors stop. Below is the /etc/fstab config on Ubuntu and my smb.conf from OMV. Any help would be appreciated.

    Code
    //192.168.1.6/PlexMediaUFS /mnt/Plex-cifs cifs credentials=/home/plex/.smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlmssp,uid=plex,gid=users,file_mode=0664 0 0
