    • How to share a local "home/user/share" folder as SMB?

      I'm using Odroid XU4 and I managed to install openmediavault thanks to "Armbian Stretch" image.

      I'm trying to share a local folder (from the SD card) by the OMV control panel, unfortunately I'm unable to do it, because the device with this folder is not available on the list. I can only see the mounted and shared external USB HDDs.
      I tried to edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf manually, adding:
      [sambashare]
      path = /home/mona/sambashare

      Unfortunately after restart it's gone.

      How can I mount this local folder for SMB sharing?
    • While not the best option, add those lines to the extra options box on the samba settings tab. You really should enable user directories in the Users tab and samba plugin. Then it would share your home directory automatically.

      Any idea why?
      Yes. This is one of the main OMV concepts - no data on the OS drive.
