How to share a local "home/user/share" folder as SMB?

I'm using Odroid XU4 and I managed to install openmediavault thanks to "Armbian Stretch" image.

I'm trying to share a local folder (from the SD card) by the OMV control panel, unfortunately I'm unable to do it, because the device with this folder is not available on the list. I can only see the mounted and shared external USB HDDs.
I tried to edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf manually, adding:
[sambashare]
path = /home/mona/sambashare

Unfortunately after restart it's gone.

How can I mount this local folder for SMB sharing?

I actually tried to enable "User home directory", unfortunately the "Location" field only allows me to select one of the mounted external HDDs. I can't select the internal storage there. Any idea why?

Yes. This is one of the main OMV concepts - no data on the OS drive.

Thanks for explaining. It indeed is safer for the NAS stability. I just needed it for temporary, custom mounting points which I enable by .sh script, executed from Tasker in my phone.
