I originally have 7 disks for a RAID6 in a setupt with 9 SATA slots.
Now, I bought a 10TB HDD and I want to run only this new HDD (and maybe a second one later) while having the 7 disks only as a backup option. Later, I will remove the backup physically, also. But not at this point, yet.
So I would like to make sure that those 7 disks are powered off all the time.
Normally, my OMV goes into hibernation if unused. It is rebooted only on occation.
Will unmounting the RAID achieve this?
So if my OMV is woken up from hibernation the unmounted disks will stay powered off? Powering on upon reboot would not be problematic because that happens seldomly.
