Good afternoon!
Did what you recommended...unfortunately still an error message (please see attachement). Do you think it could be possible that the language thing is the problem?

Do you think it could be possible that the language thing is the problem?
Nope. I forgot to tell you to remove the oldstable-updates lines as well.
Thanks - looks much better!
But there is still one or better two problems:
#1) update management in gui has one package: openmediavault 3.0.99 with 0.00 B...........? (That's my current version.)
#2) still can't do an upgrade...apt-get distro-upgrade...means that there is nothing to upgrade...
What you be so kind to support me again?
Greetings,
M.A.
update management in gui has one package: openmediavault 3.0.99 with 0.00 B...........? (That's my current version.)
If you aren't going to upgrade to 4.x, you can probably ignore the updates tab.
still can't do an upgrade...apt-get distro-upgrade...means that there is nothing to upgrade...
apt-get dist-upgrade is the actual command. If it reports there is nothing to upgrade, then there is nothing to upgrade. If you want to move to OMV 4.x, omv-release-upgrade is the command you want.
Hi ryecoaaron!
I would like to upgrade my system (I think it is time for it...), but I get another error message (see attachement). Would you be so kind and could you check the message again?
Thank you so much!
M.A.
It recreated the backports file. So, you will need to remove the file that generates it and the list again.
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault-kernel-backports.list /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/apt.d/20kernel_backports
Then try again.
It did....not work: still 3.0.99
It did....not work: still 3.0.99
I need more info than that. Output from omv-release-upgrade?
Attached you'll find two files:
#1: upgrade protocol
#2 screenshot from webgui after reboot
Thanks again!
M.A.
upgrade protocol
I thought I mentioned this before but maybe it was in one of the many other 3.x upgrade threads... omv-release-upgrade is looking for jessie not oldstable. So, when you rebuilt your sources.list, it used oldstable. Change all instances of that to jessie and the upgrade process should work.
Dear ryecoaaron!
Now I have a up to date OMV-Server which feels so good!
Thank you so much for your patience and your help! - You are a true Unix/Linux/Debian/OMV-God!
Greetings,
M.A.
Now I have a up to date OMV-Server which feels so good!
Glad to hear
Hello,
I compared my list of plugins with what is available on omv-extras.org. The rest was uninstalled.
Then I fixed my sources.list like Mark Aurel and moved my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault-kernel-backports.list and the apt-get update worked,.
So I did the omv-release-upgrade.
But in the end it throws some errors (see attached)
After reboot I can login through ssh and the console shows me that the update had worked but i can not enter through webgui (502 Bad Gateway). SMB and plex works aswell.
Should I restore my old OMV build and try to upgrade again? And where were my errors?
I hope that someone can help me.
Thank you in advance!
he update had worked
Nope. It had lots of errors according to your screenshot. Try apt-get -f install and post all of the output.

After this and a restart I could enter the OMV through WebGUI and it seems that everything is correct.
Or did i miss something?
Thank you!
