Plex Media Server updated plugin

    • Offizieller Beitrag

    Is there an updated plugin somewhere around that can be used or can I just upload the linux distro from the website into the webUI?

    The fact that you are asking tells me that you are probably using an arm device. If you aren't, the official plex repo is enabled by omv-extras and you should see updates when they are available. That said, you should use docker either way since the plugin is going away - Installation and Setup Videos - Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

    omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

    Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

    Please put your OMV system details in your signature.
    Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

    FWIW: I've been using the Docker container on OMV over an ARM box as per above referenced instructions, and it works OK.
    In presence of an active PlexPass it also takes care of PMS version updates for you.

    Very recently, though, I switched over to Emby for a number of (to me) good reasons. But that's another story :)

  • I have switched over to Docker for the plugin but it doesn't seem to work properly. A lot of the time when it tries to load my library it hangs to the point that the process crashes on the box. It then takes it's sweet time realizing and restarting before it works again. I never had this issue when I used the normal plugin. Any thoughts?

    I'm using an Intel Nuc for the server, i3 2.4ghz with 8GB of ram. It only runs the server, I have a NAS where all the files are stored.

    This has only happened since switching to Docker. I follow the tutorial exactly.

    Edit:

    Also the log file just gets spammed with this;

    chown: changing ownership of '/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Metadata/Movies/7/677fe59a3e2643fa61ba55919e8ad5f7d20cc6d.bundle/Contents/com.plexapp.agents.imdb/art/3b0381322fdb85f35d331f0e6648c8e092cbc2e9': Operation not permitted

    No idea why.

  • This smells like wrong PUID / PGID in the container specs
    (just my 2 cents)

    That's what someone else told me as well. That wasn't the case. We eventually figured out it was because my PMS config was mounted remotely (On my nas) and it didn't like that. Testing with a small media library and local config the issue seems to be gone. I'm not copying over the old config. Hopefully the issue stays resolved.
