Misc Problems

Hi All, I really hope than some genius on here can help me. I used to have a fairly stable OMV 4 but recently I am getting more and more errors and I think I just need to upgrade the kernel. A list of my 3 main errors below: maybe someone can help me please. And if not, maybe someone can explain how I can upgrade my Kernel from 4.15 to 4.19. I cannot find a howto for that. 1) Update Management-Check

3) I have 2 Shared Folders (without References) that cannot be removed. Everytime I try to remove them the following erros show up:

thanks. Just thought I add a few more eyes and people maybe recognize a commonality between the 3 issues I am encountering....

So problem (1) and (2) were solved by removing the package appstream and running omv-aptclean. Thanks to https://forum.openmediavault.o…php/User/4556-ryecoaaron/

Still having trouble with removing the shares though

Still the same problem after rebooting.
I also cannot add a new share after creating a brand new filesystem on a new disk.

So the error is in the general process of adding/removing shares.

Any more ideas?

OK. I will try that. Haven't edited that file. Is there some kind of instruction.
I dont really know what to edit there exactly.

OK. Found a solution. The drive in question was an external USB drive. The only way it worked was to boot without drive connected, wait for several Linux error messages to finish, then connect the USB drive. This obviously forces a refresh of all Linux links. The I can remove the file system on OMV and unmount the drive.
Strangely, the drive can only be unmounted if I boot without the drive connected and connect it after booting.
