Raspberry pi 4 OMV ???

  • Hi,

When will Raspberry pi 4's OMV ISO be released???? There is currently an iso that people are using but it's still in beta, is it safe enough to use just for personal home use and occasional plex remote access?? How will i check when the new one is released???

    Thanks.

Its as safe as it is going to get. OMV 5 is only a couple of months away and since there will be no official port of Debian Stretch (which omv 4 is based on) for the Pi 4, it seems unlikely there will be an official omv 4 port for the Pi 4.

    Huh?

Part of the developer work I contributed here was based on dealing with the unfortunate RPi situation, providing an OS base that is not dependent on Raspbian (or Raspbian version) allowing to run OMV with the appropriate userland (Jessie with OMV3, Stretch with OMV4, the story could be continued) and combining this with the kernel support from archive.raspberrypi.org.

This is not 'beta' but just the 'official' OMV image with the necessary fixes to run on the RPi 4. All the details are available in the respective announcement thread: New approach for Raspberry Pi OMV images
