    • OMV4 - Do I have to run omv-initsystem after manual update?

      Hi,

I have OMV4 installed for quite some time and it's running fine. I always update my system manually at the command line
      • apt-get update
      • apt-get dist-upgrade
After the upgrade, for the first time, I got a message saying that to conplete the installation, I have to run omv-initsystem. Is it safe to run tyhis command at any time on a production server?

      Thanks
    • You do not (and shouldn't) execute the omv-initsystem command on production system.

    • It might overwrite some of your settings like interfaces, but it won’t touch services for example.

Please have a look into the sources, it is easier than explaining what it does: github.com/openmediavault/open…openmediavault/initsystem
