copy files between 2 shared folders

Separate shares are separate filesystems. When moving files between filesystems they first need to be copied, then the old copy deleted. That is slow.

This is true even if you move between folders in /sharedfolders, since the shared folders there really are separate mounts.

If you instead locate the drive under the /srv structure and copy between folders there, it should be instantaneous. A move then is the same as a rename. That is fast.

To avoid this problem I have only one big share per drive. That way I can freely move files between folders, even from a client computer.
