After installing the virtualbox plugin and setting my vm I can't connect to it with windows rdp neither by putting '192.168.0.102:9000' (192.168.0.102 = the ip address of my omv machine) nor by using the address that it's displayed (127.0.0.1:9000, it's localhost so obviously i can't connect to that with my windows pc)
I also tried using a vnc client but it didn't work.
If the problem is the address of the rdp server I don't know how to fix that, I haven't found any setting for that.
My problem is similar to his but I can't set the ip address on the display tab
I'm unable to connect to my virtualbox vm

What version of windows do you have?

All versions of windows 10 has a virtual host built in. It's called hyper-V and if very nice and worth giving it a try. It is alot more stable then virtualbox plus it connects to rdc automatically. check out this tutorial. DO NOT DO VIA THE COMMAND LINE!! https://docs.microsoft.com/en-…uick-start/enable-hyper-v

I think @dogesurfer is working with the Virtuabox plugin, in OMV.

I don't think he is. unless hes hosting and OMVS inside a virtualbox on OMVS. Look at the picture. Or maybe I'm just dumb

I host OMV test guests, inside of an OMV host using VB, but that looks like a Ubuntu Mate desktop VM to me.
After installing the virtualbox plugin and setting my vm I can't connect to it with windows rdp....
Maybe I'm wrong - we'll see what he says.

To be able to see the options you'll need in the plugin to change the IP address; on the VB plugin page, under phpVirtualBox, you'll need to toggle "ON" Advanced configuration.

I was working with the virtualbox plugin in omv, if I had problems with virtualbox on windows I wouldn't be asking help in this forum.
but that looks like a Ubuntu Mate desktop VM to me.
Yes, that's an Ubuntu Mate VM that i created on windows and i copied the .vdi file on my nas because I wanted to do a quick test without having to go trough the installation process, the vm booted so apparently this method worked.
