NFS - Share Creation - Number of Servers (Specifies how many server threads to create)

Hi Guys

am new to OMV and would like to know what is the purpose of the belo option while creating a simple NFS share

There is an option to specify number of Servers with in NFS creation tab as per below. Could someone please provide me some information on what it is, how it works and advantages of having more Server etc?

The option could be used to limit the number of running RPC servers. In OMV5 this optin has been removed because it was of historical reasons there.

Increasing the number of nfs threads can improve performance if there is a lot of nfs activity. For instance running a bunch of thin clients with their filesystems on the nfs server. But it takes more computing resources and memory. So it can also decrease performance. If your NAS works as a dedicated nfs fileserver and you have plenty of memory and cores, then you might want to see if it improves the performance. For instance on a 4 core pure nfs server with 8GB you could try 64 threads. And measure if you get any improvement. However if you use the NAS for other stuff than just nfs, then that other stuff may suffer.

But then you wouldn't use OMV on that nfs server.
