new news on the fact that Mergerfs folders didn't mount in Sharedfolders on reboot?
MergerFs - omv5

- OMV 5.x

It has to do with the sharedfolders mount file changes. I have this happening on my system as well. Trying to figure out a fix from the plugin side but it may require a fix on the OMV side.

This came up here and here but this should not be an issue, I'm using MergerFS on v4 but I don't reference sharefolders in any docker configs.
Yep, I followed those and even posted on them. I'm only having this issue on OMV 5. I don't even have docker on the system I'm have the reboot mount issue on. I don't use the sharedfolders path for anything. The problem is the bind mounts are mounted before the pool members which causes the pool members to fail to mount due to non-empty path. The pool still mounts but it just has the sharedfolder directories.

I know the original suggestion was to replace the After=zfs-mount.service with After=sysinit.target which works but would create a problem with zfs, I take it the two cannot applied together.

So it is currently not advisable to use Mergerfs ...

I wouldn't say that.

ok you are right, but not being an expert, what solution I could find?
-
Well, I don't use the Unionfilesystem plugin here. I configure mergerfs by hand in /etc/fstab and I have never had any problems with it.
-
ok but if I don't use Sharedfolders, then I have to configure samba by hand, right?
It's not that complicated -
I never said anything about not using shared folders.
-
i connected mergerfs with sharedfolder, i'm doing some mess.
But if I want to create a shared folder in my mergerfs pool, how can I do it? -

You create the shared folder in/using the fuse mount point
-
ok i get it, after i create the samba share in the smb.conf file

No, you add a samba share via/from Shared Folders you don't touch or edit smb.conf

If I configure mergerfs by hand in /etc/fstab then I can't see it in FileSystem and so I can't create a shared folder in SharedFolders via the Omv gui.

it would be nice and useful if you could create a How to of your alternative method to configure OMV

Why, the plugin works perfectly OK, I'm using it and so are a number of other users
-
The OMV 5.x version of the plugin has plenty of issues. They are being worked on.
I really don't think manually configuring pools/fstab is the right option for most users. The fact that it is still not working well on OMV 5.x shouldn't be a huge issue since OMV 5.x hasn't been released. I don't what else to say about that. And once we get the plugin to a good state, I will add the damn option to pool folders instead of just disks...

If you are using the Plugin, it writes what is needed to /etc/fstab. So you can look there for an example of what you could do by hand instead . And everything you really need to know is in the mergerfs documentation - README.md and FAQ pages: https://github.com/trapexit/mergerfs
