    • Samba Transfer Speed on Raspberry Pi 4

      Hello,

is there a way to get higher transfer speeds for samba on my rpi4? Currently i am getting around 70mb/s, but with ftp i reach up to 110-120mb/s.
I did the hdparm test and the results were okay, same with iperf.

      Setup:
      Raspberry Pi 4 - 4GB RAM
      Powered USB 3.0 Hub
      1x WD Elements 6TB via USB 3.0 - Filesystem ext4
      1x regular 2TB HDD via USB 3.0 - Filesystem ext4

      Here are my settings:
      min receivefile size = 16384
      write cache size = 524288
      getwd cache = yes
      socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=65536 SO_SNDBUF=65536
      read raw = yes
      write raw = yes
      max xmit = 65535
      dead time = 15

Does anybody get higher transfer rates or is 70mb/s the max with samba?

      Thanks in advance.

    • Update:

      Found my error!
My problem was the way my operation system (Linux Mint) mounted the network shares.
I had a little app installed called gigolo, which auto-mounted my network shares via gfvs-mount.
After deleting the app and manually mounting the shares via /etc/fstab, the transfer speed is alright (over or around 100 mb/s in read and write).

Really glad this worked out in the end...
