Update Error, Docker error, Error reading config.xml

  • Hi,

    I´m currently setting up a "Home-Nas" with a raspberry pi 4.
I used the install scripts from https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…ipt/blob/master/README.md

I wanted to install docker to be able to use cloud commander.
When I try to install docker I get this:

    Code
    Get:13 http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian buster-backports InRelease [46.7 kB]
    Err:13 http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian buster-backports InRelease
The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 04EE7237B7D453EC NO_PUBKEY 648ACFD622F3D138
    Reading package lists...

    Failed to update apt repos.
    <<< *************************************

As I then tried to check for updates I get this error:

then went to putty an ran "omv-firstaid -> check rrd database" and get:

    Code
Checking all RRD files. Please wait ...
ERROR: Error reading file '/etc/openmediavault/config.xml': failed to load external entity "/etc/openmediavault/config.xml"

Can someone help me fix my setup?

  • I followed the instructions from this youtube video:

At the beginning I didn't have these errors.

I was experimenting with copying the content of my SD card to a smaller one via a paragon backup. Unsuccessfully.. But for that I had to shrink the data partition of my SD card with paragon.
Could that have caused the errors?

Highly probable as paragon is an MS based application, MS and Linux can work together but sometimes they don't play well :)

OMV will run happily on an 8GB SD or perhaps a 4GB but the norm is 16GB, I have 2 Pi's one uses a 16BG the other 32GB if you want to use something that is compatible with both OS's then use Clonezilla Live then if you should need to alter a partition on a running system use GParted.

BTW, this simply works if you follow the guide if you want to go 'off-piste' then you're on your own :)

I read about paragon in another forum.. Well.. lessons learned I'd say.

So this means I will probably best of with a clean install, right?
