Docker gui plug-in does not install please help

  • I installed OMV4 on a 32-bit PC
    installing debian 9,
and then following the instructions that you master recommended me,
    I have installed OMV4
    so far everything is ok
i have installed and configured miniDNLA, FTP, SMB, SSH, WebDAV, they work correctly.
my problem is that the ¨Docker gui 4.1.6¨ plug-in does not want to be installed.
any of you OMV Masters, can you give me an explanation?

I thank you all in advance for your help
    whatever it is the help

what button do you talk about?
thinks I'm ignorant on the subject

I see that the docker repo button is enabled but that doesn't mean your system is actually able to retrieve packages from the repo. Click the apt clean button in omv-extras and cut&paste the output into a post or attach it in a text file.

    BunsenLabs

You seemed to have changed your repos and/or you are not really running Debian 9 (BunsenLabs may be derived from debian but it is not debian) and/or you might be running a desktop environment which is highly recommended not to do. So, those factors are probably contributing to your problems. I don't have time to figure out why it is not working on a very non-standard system.

I didn't notice this until now but this time, you installed the i386 version of Debian. There are no 32bit packages in the docker repo. You need to install the amd64 version of Debian.

do I have to download the amd64 ISO version, mount it on a USB and install everything on a 32-bit PC?????

Obviously that would not work on a 32 bit PC but you also can't use the docker plugin on a 32 bit PC. Unless you used a different PC this time, your original bunsenlabs install was amd64. That is why I assumed it was a 64 bit PC.

    OK
so I have to buy a 64-bit PC if I want to be able to access you have my files on the outside of my home network
do you have a solution to recommend me?
I thought that with my 32-bit PC I could access from the internet :(

No, you don't have to buy a 64 bit PC. The only thing that doesn't work is the docker plugin. You can still install Debian 10 Buster then run the install script to get OMV. You just will have to manually install the docker.io package then you can run the portainer container. Should work fine. There are plenty of ways (ssh, vpn, etc) to access your files from the internet that don't require docker as well.
