With no monitor, I would force a reboot. If you have a monitor (or tv), try:

    /etc/init.d/openmediavault-engined restart
    /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Do you know if sde is the system drive or part of your raid? I would still reboot it.

It is trying to mount the raid and it isn't there. Did it finish booting?

  • am not sure whats going on as i thought i was at a lost with it.

i powered everything down and started to set a new os drive up obviously i disconnected all the raid drives during this just as a last minute ive reconnected the old drive to see if it boots and what do you know it now boots.

do you think its worth risking leaving it as it is as the os drive is sde

if you think i should replace the drive is there a easy way to close the replacement 2.5" disk i have?

I would clone the old drive to the new drive with clonezilla. OMV will never know you changed it :)

  • got any instructions for it my linux knowledge is very basic

am assuming plugging the new drivein via a sata2.5" to usb adapter will work still

Yes, you can use the usb adapter. Plug both drives in at the same time and boot the clonezilla cd (or make usb stick). The menus are easy enough to go through to do a device-device clone.

  • sorry dident releise it was a seprate live installer thought it was a package to run from the omv os.

decided to ditch the idea of usb adapter and just unplug all my raid and plug into one of the onboard satas.

  • Hmm strange when i cloned the drive and once complete i tried to just but the newly cloned drive on its own no raid drives attached it displayed the same fault.

shutdown and add all drives back and it now boots.

do you think i dident actually have a fault and it could of been a drive which was louse (what i mean is someone f**ked with my server)

Could have been a bad sector on the old drive. Hard to say. I would watch it.
