FTP service (proftpd) starts on boot even when disabled

  • Hi all,

I have completed a new/clean install of OMV5 on my rock64 board. I'm running latest OMV 5.3.0-1 on the latest Linux 5.4 Armbian Buster image.

Generally it is working really well so big thanks to the devs and contributors.

I have noticed one small issue where the FTP service starts on boot even when the service is disabled through the OMV GUI. Looks like monit thinks it should be enabled / started even if it is disabled in the GUI settings.

    Any help appreciated.

  • I had the same problem yesterday after the update to 5.3.0 on my Rock64. In the Web GUI FTP was shown as started while the service was disabled.

I started and stopped the FTP service via Web GUI. After that the FTP service was off and remained off after a restart.
