  • I have the same type of error with the web interface only SSH connection was being refused. I hooked up a monitor and keyboard to the server but couldn't see anything immediately wrong and issued a reboot.

    SSH is back but the web interface gives the same type of error:

    "session_start(): open(/var/lib/php5/sess_8a338an3kdntcfdnsmhncaclj0, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)"

    I've not upgraded OMV or changed the config in any way since the last update for 0.4

    Did you try clearing the browser cache? If that doesn't work, try as root:

    /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

    omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • David, on the commands you instructed am I supposed to reboot or wait for something?
    ls -la /var/www/openmediavault
    df -h
    My Hard drive LEDs are blinking like crazy after I rebooted. In addition I can now get no access to anything at all
    not even through PUTTY

    I guess a little late but what exactly does this command do?

    My Setup
    OMV Version 0.4.36 Fedaykin on a PC with
    Software Raid

  • Erm, you should execute them via PuTTY as root user.

    The first command lists the openmediavault webdirectory with the rights on each file and the owner/group.
    The second command shows me how full your hard drives are.

    E.g.

    So you shouldn't reboot at all while using this commands.

    That could be the problem. What is the output of:

    dpkg -l | grep php
    dpkg -l | grep openmediavault

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

  • I've had some issues with sessions before, but then it was permission problems. Recreating /var/lib/php5 should be enough since it's empty except for sessions :)

  • David here are the output of both commands:

    root@OMV:~# dpkg -l | grep php
    dpkg-query: cannot scan updates directory `/var/lib/dpkg/updates/': No such file or directory

    root@OMV:~#

    root@OMV:~# dpkg -l | grep openmediavault
    dpkg-query: cannot scan updates directory `/var/lib/dpkg/updates/': No such file or directory

  • Thanks for your input subzeroin,
    forgive the dumb question, but how exactly do we Recreate /var/lib/php5 in OMV, to correct permission problems as you noted below
    can it be done with WinSCP or can you provide the linux command as I am also using PuTTY
