I had to change the omv web gui port.
Now I can access the GUI web only by indicating host name, instead with the ip address I can't log in.

Is it a problem related to omv?
I can't access the web GUI from the IP address, after changing the port.

restart OMV to have the port change applied.

I restarted it several times. The problem persists.

use CLI or shell and restore HTTP port to 80 (omvfirstaid), and restart OMV, finally try one time more to change to 99, must work.
PD: revise that you do not select HTTPS instead.

Is it normal that there are all those "q"?
There seems to be a problem ..Using the omv-firstaid command and selecting the second option, is only the port changed?

try to eliminate squid from equation.
repeat test from other machine using windows and chrome for example.
PD: I suspect that squid do not permt to use other port that 80 (in your case 99).

Yes, with Firefox I can access via IP address. How is it possible?
@raulfg3 I would still like to know what prevented access to the web gui via ip on google chrome. -

THANK YOU! You have no idea how many hours I searched a fix for this, but after learning more about DHCP, DHCP Binding, my router's configuration, DNS etc., your message finally got my OMV Gui to work! THANKSS!!! I even took the time to register on this forum to thank you!

Well, the problem started when I was installing OMV on my device and had to configure my network. I configured it through Ethernet, but my cable had to be connected to my LAN1 port. If it was connected to LAN2, it would gave me a configuration error, because there was no internet on that port (I didn't know that at that moment, found out later) - I heard that the second port doesn't work for me because of my ISP, I would need to purchase another internet plan in order for it to offer internet. After installation, when trying to connect to the NAS's IP, it gave me a CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error. IF I switched the port to LAN2, voila, my WEBGUI became visible. But when I tried to install OMV-Extras through SSH, "github.com" wouldn't resolve, so I tried changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 in "Interfaces" tab, but then the connection with my NAS was lost.
After I found out that my NAS needs to be on LAN1 in order for it to have internet connection, I did some research for my router. It took some time...
One thing I tried is access my ISP's website and setup a Dynamic DNS (I needed to buy a business plan in order to have Static IP), and then I enabled DMZ Host on my router, but I didn't know what that does. I entered my OMV's IP there, then saved. I waited a few moments, but I didn't saw anything to happen.
I kept searching for a solution, until...
I reached out this thread. Then I read this:
try to eliminate squid from equation.
repeat test from other machine using windows and chrome for example.
PD: I suspect that squid do not permt to use other port that 80 (in your case 99).
And so I did: I accessed Google Chrome from my phone, but my Dynamic DNS was already typed in there (searched earlier), and what do I see? MY WEBGUI. It actually felt like a miracle to me, because I was already struggling with this for a few days. I was so happy that this frustrating and tiring "journey" had come to an end.
I, once again, thank you for letting this advice on this thread. Now I can finally enjoy using my server. Hope this post will solve similar problems for the ones who will read it.

To setup a dynamic DNSD I suggest to use DuckDNS docker
And also recomend to use Swag Docker to access to your NAS App from outside your LAN, like transmission , web Page, etc...

The DMZ host setting is used to forward all network traffic to a host / server inside you local network. This is most likely not what you want except when you have a dedicated firewall / gateway beeing that DMZ host.
If you had that for longer, consider your system compromised.

I had it for only a few days, but if I disable the DMZ Host, I won't have access to my NAS anymore, because, if I enter the IP of my laptop on the browser, it will say CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT...

Instead of opening all ports, you have to configure some port forwarding (port 80 and 443). Check the manual of your router.

Ok, I checked this, and it works. I don't know if this is what you were saying, but now I can connect to my NAS by entering in my URL "example.com:8008". But the problem is if I type the same address, without the ending port, it will lead me to my route's admin page...

Only one thing can listen to one port, so you have to decide between router ui or omv. But why would you need the router ui on the wan port?

You are right, I didn't get that at first. So what I did now, I set the port 80 for my NAS, now if I enter "example.com", without the ending port, it sends me directly to my server. But I must ask: what is the difference between DMZ Host and what I have done now? Or maybe I didn't follow well what you said..
-
With DMZ host, you open up all ports (1-65535) to the public instead of one. This will open your shares and other services (i.e. all your dockers), portainer, ... to the public internet. If you open only one port, you decide, what is accessable on the internet and by putting a reverse proxy in front of that you get a good line of defense.
AN example If you use OMV as DMZ host, all your public shares or ssh is opten to mee and the rest of the world.
-
Ohhh, I see now! But that leads me to another problem: I can't access my SSH, Portainer because, with the "example.com" address, I can only access the OMV WEBGUI now (having the port 80). Any other port won't work now, but it's like you said. And I surely don't want to go back to DMZ Host, now that I know what is the purpose of it xD.
So, my actual question would be, why can't I access my NAS with it's original IP? As I said above, the only way I can do this is only if I connect the server to the other LAN port of my router, but it won't have any internet connection, because the port doesn't offer it..... Every time I want to connect to the IP, the error that Chrome gives to me is ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. (I want to mention that this also happened to TrueNAS, which I installed right before OMV -for the first time)
