Hi,

You can do it from the command line but not from the web interface.
mkdir /media/remote
mount -t cifs //windowsservername/share /media/remote -o username=yourusername
thanks for the reply.
i've mounted the remote directory, but i can't see it on the WEBGUI under "storage" section !
Nothing you can do about that.
i need to backup data from a remote directory on windows 2003 server on OMV directory.
Why don't you mount a OMV samba share on Windows server and backup data to OMV? That is what I do.
even if i've access on windows, company policies can't allow me to edit windows configuration.
You have two choices:
1 - create script to copy from Windows server to OMV that runs by cron
2 - Use a third system to copy from Windows server to OMV
i thought about solution one. thanks a lot!
I created two empty shared folder "shared1" and "shared2" in OMV.
I mounted remote windows's shared folder under "shared1/server" from ssh.
I configurred rsync/rsnapshot from "shared1" to "shared2" in OMV.
This work form me, I hope this can work for you too.
ohhh thank you for support! you're my hero XOXOXOXO
