Error in Update manager

It wants to upgrade to Debian Wheezy. Did you add a new repo? Post the output of:

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org-sardaukar.list

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • I did not add any new repo last days.

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org-sardaukar.list

    These lines are the problem:

    Code
deb http://ftp.sk.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
    deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free

Wheezy is stable now. You must have added them for some reason. They need to be removed.

  • These lines I add after fresh install OMV - have problems with my realtek ethernet driver. Then almost 2 months OMV run without this error.

But have problem now with editing sources.list

I can edit but with this: /etc/apt/sources.list: Permission denied

Used nano /etc/apt/sources.list as root. Deleted 3 lines and exit. When i type Y in save dialog - PERMISSION DENIED.

How can I save edited file?

  • I have the same issue. "/etc/apt/sources.list.d" Has two lines that I need to remove. I am a Nube to linux and have researched and followed the instructions as closely as I could. I am able to ssh into the file and edit it, but not able to save the file due to "permission denined" I tried to change the permissions of the file only to be denied again. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ok, I tried another solution but still have an error from update manager

This is the error from ssh

  • You are using 32 bit??? You know how to put your sources.list in a codebox? Open the file with nano. Highlight the whole by hold left mouse button an moving up to the top line. While it is highlighted in putty come back to forum and you will be able to paste whatever is highlighted. Paste it in a code box.

After you edited the sources.list did you do: (uh, yeah u did. too early in the morning... i leave this for informational purposes)

    apt-get update

If you did not it will still show same results. You need to do apt-get update after every edit of repos.

    Try this:
    apt-get update
    apt-get upgrade
    apt-get -f install

  • root@OMV-NAS:~# ping 8.8.8.8 -c4
    PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data.
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=1 ttl=48 time=55.0 ms
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=2 ttl=49 time=55.1 ms
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=3 ttl=49 time=54.4 ms
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=4 ttl=48 time=54.7 ms

    Static? Yes

  • Shows you have internet. Did you set your dns server??? If you set static ip you need to set you dns server:

primary should be ip of your router
    secondary should be

That could be the issue when you do apt-get update.

In OMV web-gui dns server is at

system/network/ then tab on right dns server.

  • root@OMV-NAS:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list

  • Thanks for all your help. If I can't get it with in the next few day's I will reinstall OMV. It only took a few hours and I had AFP, SSH and FTP up and running so I can start from the drawing board if need be.
