"Best" Advanced Power Management for family NAS

  • Hi,

kinda noob on those questions... You can see my configuration in my signature. I think each habits needs a specific power management.

First, I don't want to be an energy spender. So I did set Autoshutdown to 1hour (but I did see one time that autoshut down shuts OMV event if the RAID 6 was repairing :(). I use OMV for Video, audio streaming, backup for work.

For the disk system, I'm on 128. Like on other 5 diks. Should I spin down or have a better power saving method ?

    Thanks.

    Gigabyte GA-H87M-HD3, Pentium G3220, 4 GO DDR3, 6 x 2 To raid 6, 2.5' 100 Go for system
Donator because OMV deserves it (20€)

  • Any hints ?

Have a mix for hard drive WD green Seagate, Hitachi

I'll try 127 with 240 minutes, does it make sense ?

    Thanks

  • Why is no one answering these questions? Seems simple and like a common question for those of us who don't code or know the inner workings of APM and such.

Maybe no one knows the answer? I don't because I don't spin down my drives.
