Extplorer. No rights

  • I've a Shared Folder named ISO with all rights for two users (admin and another user).
I've configurated FTP for this folder.
    I've also installed Extplorer.

In Extplorer I see the folder and its content, but I'm not able to rename or to delete the files.
With FTP I'm able to do these.

    Is the configuration wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • It would help immensely if you were to provide version number of both OMV, the plugin and other relevant information. This way we can see if there's already a fix for the problem or not, and we also don't have to spend a lot of time repeating ourselves and guessing. Try to make a habit of this.

Depends on the version. The latest plugin for kralizec runs as the extplorer user in the users group. The sardaukar version runs as www-data which is why it didn't have access to user files a lot.

  • @subzeroinnull
    Debian-Version: 6.0.10
    OMV-Version: 0.5.53
    Extplorer 0.5.5

    @'WastedIJ
When I start ExtPlorer I login as user "admin", not as "openmediavault".
    Where is this user?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your version has to run as www-data which will have problems with permissions. There was no way to fix it with OMV 0.5. It is fixed in the OMV 1.0 version.

extplorer has its own user database. Click on the Setting button to change passwords and add users.

  • OMV 1.0? And where I find this version?
I see only 0.5.48 as latest version.

    However:

    • Extplorer has an user "admin" with rights as administrator
    • I've just created another user, always with rights as administrator, but I'm yet not able to manage the files and folders.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It will be released soon. I don't recommend upgrading because it is still in testing.

  • Ok, I'll wait.
Is there some news about new features?
