SMART error eMail every day

    Hello,


    i need help. I use omv 1.0 and I have a hdd that shows me by SMART 1 offline uncorrectable error since 3 years. Thats no problem but after update to omv 1.0. I get every day an eMail from smartd about that problem.


    My wish were only to get an eMail if the counter grows or something else reports errors.


    Are there some specialist of smartd around there?

    You had this error for 3 years? I was told the offline uncorrectable error indicated eminent drive failure. I have the same situation (only for a week or so), one of the four drives in my RAID-5 and so I'm replacing the drive.


    Why not replace the drive?


    I do know that you can turn off the email alerts, but I doubt you can change the setting to only report an increase in this counter.

    I would say you can't do it that way, but there actually are intelligent reporting systems which only sent messages once a threshold is met and again when the threshold is left again and not continuesly reporting it. Maybe you could propose something like that as a Feature Request on the Bugtracker.
