Cannot Start Plex

Hi Guys,

today i wanted to do a new, clean install of my OMV.

Now im having the big problem, im not getting Plex to run again.

I installed the latest Plex 1.05 without any problems, but after i set the path for the database and then put the mark on Activate i receive an error message when i click on safe. I did now 3 clean installs, everytime i receives the same error.

Failed to execute command 'omv-mkconf plexmediaserver 2>&1': Plex Media Server is not running (no process found)...

Can you check Storage/File systems. Are your data drives mounted?????

All mounted....

but when i install Plex it's not creating the user plex anymore.....

Do all these regardless if you think you need to or not:
apt-get --purge remove openmediavault-plexmediaserver
apt-get --purge remove plexmediaserver
userdel plex

Also, make sure the plexmediaserver repo is enabled in OMV Extras.

Then reinstall via the plugin section in the web gui.

already did.

some problem.

After i installed plex without setting the Database directory through the plugin i can acess plex.

As soon as i put the the database directory and Save the changes i receiver the error message and nothing is working anymore

cd /media/uuid/ to where the plexmediaserver folder is located (whatever uuid you used)

then give me:
stat plexmediaserver

and then results of ls -la here:
cd ./plexmediaserver
ls -la

now the error message slightly changed to:

It is a typo in the new code to check to see if ownership is correct. I will fix in a bit.

I figured something was wrong cuz of the chown he had. But his home folder did not seem to change either.

an then friday night/ saturday morning some crazy german guy is whining about Plex not running......but u are right...the for me the last three days in business made me feel like 1 year older

we need the stat of plexmediaserver folder to see if it matches the id of plex user.

1.0.6 is in repo. It compares the stat of the database folder to the plex user. If different, it changes the ownership.
