Plex and CPU load

Dear all,

after installing an testing pley i think it is great
But there is one thing that wonders me... sometimes if nothing is happening on that system (no one uses it = idle) I get messages from OMV that:

The background maintenance tasks should start at noon - not now ...

I can not find any "activities" in the Plex Log...

But when I opened the OMV syslog I found the following:

And because I have no idea what OMV wants me to know I would like to ask for your help/knoledge what my system is doing...
Any Idea's?

you can use "System Info" > "Processes" or "top" on the commandline to see, which process is eating your CPU

thanks for your reply...

What I did till now:
Started the server at about 10:00 the opened the Plex WebGui and did noting else, started nothing...
Now 12:23 there are 25% CPU used...

I think with the current version of Plex many of us are seeing high cpu usage at certain times. It does not seem to be all the time. Hopefully they realize this and it will be fixed in the next version. The last version did not do this.

No, I don't think it is ok. I would turn off notifications til it is fixed though. Unless you want to go nuts. It is not something you can fix. It has to be fixed by the package developers.

In the pic you can see it is transcoding. The graphs are behind real time. So it was still showing the transcoding processes. We see with next version of plex what happens.

Can you give me a hint what to insert at the OMV firewall section that only traffic from an to local network is ok? Local is 192.168.1.xxx only to be sure nothing else happens...

What lanuage are you using for your OMV? Deutsch?

Try switching to English and see if you still get a cpu reading like that.

You must have a quad core or larger cpu. It can 100% for each core you have. 340% on Linux is 85% on Windows (if you have a quad core).
