SABnzbd installation error

  • Hi all,

I installed the omvextraplugin then enabled the secondary downloader plugins before installing SickBeard which installed fine.

I then tried to install SABnzbd which failed with the following error:

I rebooted, uninstalled all plugins including the omvextra plugin, reinstalled etc but still get the same error.

    I'm running kernel 3.16-0.bpo.2-amd64, Version 1.1 Kralizec.

I googled this and found a few posts but they discuss running commands etc which all went over my head.

I assume I can us terminal on my Mac and use SSH to connect to OMV and run such commands?

EDIT: I reinstalled OMV from scratch but the problem persists although the log now contains more entries than before:

    Would really appreciate some help.

    Thanks

  • Please wait until the plugin has been updated to version 1.0.4, During the install it sends out a command to find the latest version, this checks the links on the sabnzbd's download page, if (like they have done) change the links format or order this command fails and so the plugin does not know what version to download.

I have fixed it but will look into a more robust solution.

Sorry for the trouble this has caused.

  • Thanks ryecoaaron, I just found a more robust method and had hopped that 1.0.4 was not yet built. I will leave it as is for now and if this happens again test the new method against the current one to see if it does work better.

  • My goodness, you guys are super awesome! I just updated the plugin and then reinstalled SABnzbd and now it's working perfectly without any errors!

These are sexy times we live in! Thank you kindly.

Just noticed that it was SABnzbd was updated again to 0.7.20 it looks like they reverted back to the original method of showing the new version and that's what broke the plugin, anybody running 1.0.3 of the plugin will need to update to 1.0.4 before clicking the update button in the plugin.

Best leave it for now as it should be ok until they release another version, even then it still might be ok if they keep to the same format of showing the version numbers.
I might also change how the update button is displayed from hidden to disabled as not showing it will not alert people to its presence, showing it will let people see there is a way to update SABnzbd.

  • If there is an update then a button will appear on the plugin page, click it and it will update SAB.

  • EDIT: Please ignore, I installed extplorer and was able to copy the script to my share and it also allowed me to rename! Excellent plugin! :D

Sorry for double post but not sure if editing the above post would notify Admins or mark the thread as unread.

jhmiller, I followed your advice on another thread (phpbb, is that a completely separate forum to this one?) regarding SABnzbd and SickBeard script which I found in the opt folder as you mentioned. I point SABnzbd to the autoprocesstv folder and SAVE settings but when I go back to Folder settings, the field is blank as the changes aren't saved. I guess this is due to file permissions as per error below. I gave the SABnzbd user access to ADM (is that admin) but still get the error.

I heard that the autoprocesstv script also needs to be renamed as I believe its called autoprocesstv.sample.cfg by default.

So I need to rename the script in the OPT folder and also allow SABnzbd access to the folder/file.

How can I access system files? If i can access system files perhaps it might be easier to just copy the file to my share which SABnzbd already has access to as its where it downloads data to?

    2014-11-23 04:37:43,347 ERROR: script_dir directory: /opt/sickbeard/autoProcessTV error accessing

    I'm almost there chap. Cheers.
