Failed to mount ' /dev/sda1':

  • Failed to mount '/dev/sda1':

    So I am not a programmer at all. I built this OMV a while back, put in a raid 5. I then added other drives to copy over to raid. Somewhere along the line I get this error every time I click on the "Apply" button in the upper right corner.(Apply the configuration changes) How do I determine which drive it is and apply the missing drive to sda1? ( I have 5 drives I used to copy over material to the raid)
    What is fstab?

    Thanks for any help

    I get a message Error "big red circle with an X in it" stating "Failed to mount ' /dev/sda1':"
    with the details listed below:

    Do you still have the drive connected? Did you add the entry to fstab? OMV doesn't use drive letters like sda.

    Why are you trying to fsck??? Stop! For future reference, you need to stop sharing and unmount the drive before removing.

    Do the following:

    cp /etc/openmediavault/config.xml /etc/openmediavault/config.bak
    cp /etc/fstab /root/fstab
    nano /etc/fstab
    remove /dev/sda1 /media/508025F68025E2E8 ntfs defaults 0 2
    ctrl-o to save, ctrl-x to exit
    nano /etc/openmediavault/config.xml
    remove

    Code
    <mntent>
    <uuid>91a9b943-63f2-435f-b9e9-8ab44b250a9d</uuid>
    <fsname>/dev/sda1</fsname>
    <dir>/media/508025F68025E2E8</dir>
    <type>ntfs</type>
    <opts>defaults</opts>
    <freq>0</freq>
    <passno>2</passno>
    </mntent>

    ctrl-o to save, ctrl-x to exit
    reboot
