Error out of disk, entering rescue mode. Grub rescue

  • Hi,

So is this telling me that my disk is out of space, yesterday I upgraded to OMV 1.0 ( Upgrade from latest OMV 0.5.X to OMV 1.0 thread ) I had trouble seeing the GUI. I followed davidh2k to fix and it worked. I tried to turn on and run machine this AM and got the message:
    Error out of disk
    entering rescue mode
    Grub rescue>_

Any thoughts? Can I put OMV on a new (different disk) and still have it work with my 3 Disk Array and have all files intact?

    Thanks,

    Drew

To answer this question.... Yes. You can
Download the 1.x ISO and put it on your installation media.
Disconnect your data drives.. leaving only your "OS" drive attached.
    Install OMV
    Shutdown and reconnect drives.
Boot machine, mount raid, and configure your services.

  • Thanks guys for both answers. ryecoaaron once again you are a lifesaver. followed instructions and I am now logged in.
KM0201 I think I will put the new 1.x on another drive and keep as a backup for the next time I Blow it up.
