    this i have in syslog...

im using just two users for samba access... the OSMC si now not able to access there and also the notebook is also not able access there

  • Mio, did you try to start samba?
    service samba start

when i trying to start it, i got following error:

    root@raspberrypi:~# service samba start
Starting Samba daemons: nmbd smbd/usr/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libcups.so.2: invalid ELF header
    failed!

  • In the beginning of the syslog there are kernel messages. Do they show the correct date too?

Can you delete those 2 users and recreate them. I am thinking there is something wrong with their samba passes.
After that try to start samba.

Hmmm.... that is weird with that library.

  • Do you have any upgrades you can do? That cups library file seems to have been update on my RPi 2 on June 9th.

I don't think it is samba. I think now it is issue with that cups library file.

  • nope, all installed:

    root@raspberrypi:~# apt-get upgrade
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

  • tekkb you are the best :)

thank you very much for your help... shares are now working perfect...

i dont know why this file was corrupted...

syslog checked and all daemons started correctly, also the syslog is longer in web gui... so it should be ok now, i will make an image backup for sure :)

thank you again, you saved my day :)

  • You are welcome man. I am glad to see someone else getting the RTC working... :)

It bothers me that this file was corrupted though. Backup you sd card with win32diskimager before it gets corrupted again. That way you do not have to start from scratch if the sd card goes bad. After making the image zip it, reduces it a lot. You can zip it in Windows if you are on Win 7 through 8.1.

If you have another method to back it up and compress your card do it how you do normally.

  • yes, its wokring great with your guide :) ...

finally got the graphs working, its nice :)

im using the win32diskimager, but will try zip it too, thats good point...

also it will be nice to have some ovm plugin to make this image or some method to back it up to mapped disk as an image or something like that, that can be easyli restored from gui, or i just want much from this? :)

regarding your SD card corruption in this guide, i didnt had your error... but when i downloaded a lot of torrents, i had IO errors at the connected USB key

is in OMV some option to view cpu temp when the RTC is connected?

    omv 6.0 in proxmox 7.1-10 - AMD Ryzen 1700 - 48GB DDR4

  • We should have an image that people can use that has all the RTC requisites installed. I can't do it with my image. To many personal things on it I would have to remove. Maybe during 4th of July someone has time to make a new image. I'll try to send Aaron a RTC module too.

The corruption I had was my fault. I am not dealing with partition tables on a daily basis and I tend not to remember this stuff.

  • you are doing a good work for raspberry fans and im running this OS for month and it works great. pretty cheap nas solution, USB 3 should be great and also 1GBit LAN, but for me it is enough for now...

you can add some fixes to updates, regarding the NTP configuration, or it must be done manually?

It does respond but it is resizing the third partition and takes a few minutes or more depending on sd size and speed. The readme says this. If you have a monitor hooked up, you would see the note.

  • maybe I was not clear; according to what I see ( but I of course could be wrong ) 2.0.15 has resize script running at first boot and this is not causing problems at all ( filesystem page shows correctly boot+system+data partitions filling completely the microSD ). Then I updated to 2.1 using web UI, did a reboot and OMV became unrensponsive......this happened at least 3 times.
I made a try deleting data partition and resizing system one before updating to 2.1 and faced any problem.
So, if resize script runs at first boot of 2.0.15, I thought the fault was related with the update process from 2.0.15 to 2.1.
Maybe this cannot be replicated......it's just my experience but I will test yr suggestion as soon as I can hook my RPi to a monitor
    thanks

I guess I misunderstood your post then. The update was probably fine. You just need to clear the server (omv-mkconf omvextrasorg aptclean) and browser cache. I have done this many times without issue.
