OMV 1.19 -> 2.X, not upgrading, packages held back

  • Been poking around for few days for solution on forum, no luck.

After working through some upgrade process (with libjs-extjs5 & libssl0.9.8 issues), am at point where "The following packages have been kept back: openmediavault openmediavault-netatalk" during Stone Burner upgrade.

    History:
    omv-update - 0 changes, up to date
    omv-release-upgrade

Rebooted, etc. In the WebGUI I did (wrongly?) see libjs-extjs5 libssl0.9.8 pending updates and applied them. Went through a round of apt-get update, omv-update, omv-release-upgrade & reboot, but am still seeing:

    Code
Creating index of upgradeable packages ...
Creating index of OpenMediaVault plugins ...
    Reading package lists... Done
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
      openmediavault openmediavault-netatalk
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

This was a fresh install to 1.19 about 6 months ago, concerned some forums recommendations about omv-mkconf omvextrasorg apt clean and apt-get dist-upgrade may have broken a dependency, but not seeing any logs about it.

    Advice?

Looks like you still have squeeze (instead of wheezy) in your /etc/apt/sources.list. Post it.

  • post reboot after what appeared to be a proper update to 2.x, boot hangs at 'Checking quotas...'

I see some posts regarding usb sticks as boot drive being a bad idea, but in order to free all 6 SATA ports on my board (6x3TB RAID5), I have a m.2 SSD in a USB2 enclosure thats internally mounted to a usb header. So while my book disk is technically USB, its SSD behind it not some thumb drive.

Any one have hints on boot options to disable quotas? I think the only place i used them was a 1TB ATP drive for apple time machine backups for my laptop.

I'll see what i can find.

  • Upgrade to OMV 2.x

When you add Ubuntu repos (http://ppa.launchpad.net precise/main), things don't always work correctly. While your sources.list is fine, you must have a file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ that references the ubuntu repo. grep -r launchpad /etc/apt/*

    And my sources.list :

    Still not upgrade...

Disable the download managers repos and then post the output of apt-get update
