Accidentally uninstalled NGINX

  • Because I wanted to install owncloud 7 on my OpenMediaVault Server, I uninstalled (not thinking about the consequences) Nginx from it. Since then I of course can't use the webinterface. I tried to reinstall Nginx, tried to use the omv -mkconf command, it says omv ins't found. And some other omv commands, which all didn't work. I'm now keen to get everything back working, without having the need to reinstall itfrom scratch.
It would be very pleasend, if anyone could help me with that.
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Nicolai

  • It's omv-mkconf, not omv -mkconf.

A backup strategy is worthless unless you have a verified to work by testing restore strategy.

    OMV AMD64 7.x on headless Chenbro NR12000 1U Intel Xeon CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz 32GB ECC RAM.

    OMV AMD64 8.x on headless Tyan Thunder SX GT86C-B5630 1U Server with Intel Xeon Silver 4110 CPU @ 2.10GHz & 32GB DDR4 ECC RAM.

  • nginx is a dependency of OMV. You probably uninstalled all the openmediavault packages.

You can do this to find out:
    dpkg -l | grep openmediavault

    You likely have to:
    apt-get install openmediavault

Then install the plugins you have installed before.
