I think line by line copying is the way to go. Some people will copy the whole box and wonder whats wrong. Maybe i'll make downloadable text or pdf file for advanced users

Regarding block / line by line copy:
I am a lazy guy and copy the whole block. The ones I would put into one block would be those which can be executed together, but I understand, new users might feel better to copy line by line.

And if you can get around the line limt:
Would you be so kind and add a reference to the update procedure, as some of the problems discusses here might result from not following this procedure.

Zoki, I'm not sure whats going on for you on 2 & 6..lol. I'll try and rework those a bit more.

I agree with you on the point of not rebooting servers but it is better to know if it works before proceeding to step 4. That's also why i added the first two lines in Part 2 step 5, someone might need to restart the setup from there if they have problems. I haven't tested though so not sure if they are needed.

I'm thinking to make more character space i might put the startup script in an attached text file, what do you think?... maybe we could then wget it from the forum and install it to seafile?..The forum only allows txt files to be uploaded though.

To be honest I've never done the update procedure before but i will definitely learn how and add it if i can make room

I've just updated part 3 of the guide. I should now have enough character space to clean up a bit and add the "how to update" section

You could try the website plugin, I thinks it's an Apache plugin but I'm not sure. If it is you might be able to setup a proxy with it but I don't think it will be any easier.

Dou you have another server running, which you cloud use as a proxy server?
Additionally on could install an apache web server on omv and use this as a proxy, but if you are not experienced with linux, you better not mess with the omv system.

Like I've said numerous times I'm no Linux guru so I can only help you so much. You said earlier that you don't need a test machine but I can say from experience that experimenting with your main machine only cause more headaches than its worth. I highly recommend you download yourself a copy of virtualbox and setup a testing virtaul machine...its free software. Then setup seafile and compare settings.

I think people have had a good go at helping you but it's hard to help when there could be so may reasons why it's not working for you. Please don't take me the wrong way, I would help you more if I could. There is a lot of home users with little experience on this fourm all the time so not everybody here has the ability to help but we are all learning☺

Personally I think OMV is the best and the easiest that's why I use it. Some of the other similar software just doesn't even come close for the home user. If you stick to the plugins and use OMV as it is I think it's really good. Its when we start installing 3rd party aplications that we start running into issues. I've got about five OMV virtual machines for testing and learning on☺

I'm seeing Tonido is look like Seafile.
Anybody notice that?

I tried Tonido out years ago. I remember it was free but not without paid limits

It's said free for home and personal use on its homepage.
They have an enterprise version for business use too.

Tonido won't run on Wheezy and there doesn't seem to be a recent docker image out there.

@openalfOk,I will try to give a few hints, how to tackle this:
Start by creatig a simple nginx web site first without ssl.
- Enable a Server, do not enable ssl
- Choose an existing share in directory
- Set choose root to true
- Use public directory should be false
- Server type should be port
- Port should be 8080
- do not set default server

Take screen shot and post here if it does not work. Without knowing, what you configure, no one will be able to help you.

Try to access http://<OMV>:8080.

Hello, I have installed the seafile and everything seems to be working apart from 1 thing. I cannot upload any file no matter if i use the client or the site attached a picture of the errors i get from the client and the site.

I tried to locate the Log file but it empty
seahub.error.log is completely empty

Not sure what is the problem I tried uploading remotely the same problem locally the same i cannot upload no files at all.

Let me know if there anything i can do to check the error somewhere else to filed out what is the problem.

Edit: I have managed to fix it by changing the address on point 8 i was using the internal ip instead of the external one not sure why it didn't allowed me to upload with the internal one but any how, Its working once i change the address to the external.
